Techniques We Use
Network Spinal
One of the main chiropractic techniques used at Alive for Life is Network Spinal (NS).
Michelle first came across Network Spinal in the late 1990s at a student conference in San Francisco. Her interested was piqued and she is now one of only a handful of chiropractors in the UK to have been taught by the developer and founder of NSA, Donald Epstein DC, receiving her Part I and II certification in 2014.
NS is an evidence based approach to wellness and body awareness. It uses low force and gentle precise touch to the spine to cue the brain to create new wellness promoting strategies. This allows two unique healing waves to develop and allow the spontaneous release of spinal and life tensions. Existing tension becomes the fuel for spinal re-organisation and enhanced wellness giving greater self-awareness of the relationships between the body, mind, emotions and our connection to the world around us.
NS care combines the patients self-reported improvements in health and wellness with the practitioners plan for development of new strategies in their spine and in their life. In a large study of 2818 people who received Network care, the results showed improvement in (amongst others):
Physical state - less pain, more flexibility, more energy
Emotional and mental state - more interest in life, less distress about pain, less moodiness, anger, depression
Stress response - relative to health, general well being
Wellbeing and quality of life - relative to positive feelings about ones self, relaxation
